GIRLS SOCCER: Green Valley holds off Shadow Ridge in Las Vegas Kick-Off

Green Valley’s Grace Panik scored in the final 10 minutes of the first half Wednesday to break a tie, and the Gators’ girls soccer team topped visiting Shadow Ridge 2-1 in the Las Vegas Kick-Off.

Alexis Kirson also scored for Green Valley.

Cheyenne Banks scored on an assist from Kaitlyn Banks to give the Mustangs an early 1-0 lead.

Faith Lutheran 1, Legacy 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Maggie Shuirman scored in the first half, and goalkeeper Beka Lescinski made it stand up with seven saves as the Crusaders blanked the Longhorns in the Las Vegas Kick-Off.

Isabella Gutierrez assisted on Shuirman’s goal.

Palo Verde 3, Western 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Macee Barlow, Madison Hernandez and Jadyn Nogues each had a goal as the Panthers topped the Warriors in the Las Vegas Kick-Off.

Sloan Nelson added two assists for Palo Verde, which led 2-0 at halftime.

Panthers goalkeeper Kailee Barnhard made two saves to get the shutout.

Centennial 3, Liberty 1 — At Green Valley, Marcella Brooks had two goals to lead the Bulldogs past the Patriots in the Las Vegas Kick-Off.

Makayla Estrellado added a goal, and Shannon Hutchins and Katelyn Levoyer each supplied an assist for Centennial, which broke a 1-1 halftime tie with two second-half goals.

Jada Kirkwood scored for Liberty.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Clark 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Haylei Hughes had two goals and an assist to help power the Spartans past the Chargers in the Las Vegas Kick-Off.

Ashlee Hackett had a goal, and Annalise Esparza notched two assists for Cimarron.

Samantha Silva and Alyssa Longenecker each worked a half in goal to combine on the shutout for the Spartans. Silva recorded seven saves.

Desert Oasis 6, Pahrump Valley 1 — At Desert Oasis, Mazeli Rangel had two goals and an assist, and Ashley Wood had a goal and two assists in the Diamondbacks’ win over the Trojans.

Megan Kowalski had a goal and an assist, and Madison Montellano, Neva Newling and Grace Gunda had Desert Oasis’ other goals.

Audrey Dunn and Miah Strellnauer had assists for the Diamondbacks.

Grace Gundacker scored for Pahrump off an assist by Sydney Dennis.

Las Vegas 8, Chaparral 0 — At Chaparral, Anna Bowen had two goals as the Wildcats blanked the Cowboys.

Atziri Avila, Leslie Garcia-Pedraza, Deisy Lopez, Brinkley McCoy, Ana Parra-Carmona and Alba Trujillo-Hinojosa also scored for Las Vegas.

Wildcats goalkeeper Megan Adamson was credited with the shutout.

Basic 2, Virgin Valley 2 — At Mesquite, Sydnie Hopkins and Sara Lieber each scored to help the Wolves earn a tie with the Bulldogs.

Sabrina Moreira added an assist for Basic.

Abbie Barnum tallied two goals for Virgin Valley, which led 2-1 at halftime. Taylor Waite and Ally Wright assisted on Barnum’s goals.
