GIRLS SOCCER: Basic strikes twice late to tie Foothill

Basic’s girls soccer team scored twice in the final 10 minutes to earn a 2-2 tie with visiting Foothill on Wednesday afternoon.

Allyson Lieber scored the tying goal with six minutes to play. Kayleigh Rawlins had the other goal for the Wolves.

Aqua Williams and Hannah Harrison each had a goal for Foothill (7-1-2), which fell into second place in the Southeast League at 3-0-2.

Basic (5-4-2) improved to 0-4-1 in league.

Silverado 1, Green Valley 0 — At Silverado, Margie Farnsworth scored in the game’s fifth minute to lift the Skyhawks over the Gators.

Melina Amador assisted on the goal, and Mikaila Becze had the shutout for the Silverado (7-2), which took over third place in the Southeast League at 3-2.

Green Valley (9-7) fell to fourth place at 2-3.

Clark 2, Bonanza 1 — At Clark, Dona Acierto scored two second-half goals to guide the Chargers past the Bengals.

Acierto scored the go-ahead goal with 10 minutes left off an assist from Marisela Lopez.

Delmy Ordonez scored for Bonanza.

Chaparral 2, Boulder City 1 — At Chaparral, Leticia Ibarra scored two first-half goals to lead the Cowboys over the Eagles.

Isabella Solorzano made seven saves to help preserve the 2-0 halftime advantage.

Jordyn Trobiani scored in the second half for Boulder City.

Tech 1, Moapa Valley 0 — At Moapa Valley, Alysia Mestas scored the only goal of the game in the first half as the Roadrunners blanked the Pirates.

Chloe Dody was in goal for Tech and posted four saves in the shutout.

Coronado 2, Liberty 0 — At Coronado, Katelyn Moxley scored two goals for the Cougars as they shut out the Patriots.

Leili Rosenberg and Jensen Boman each had an assist, and Taylor Book got the shutout for Coronado.

Western 0, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Pahrump, the Warriors and Trojans played to a scoreless draw.

Pahrump’s Noemi Valle-Diaz made 10 saves to get the shutout. Alejandra Alvarez-Torres posted the shutout for Western.

Bishop Gorman 5, Sierra Vista 1 — At Gorman, Arlie Jones had three goals, and Tavin Hays added a goal and an assist as the Gaels downed the Mountain Lions.

Hannah Borgel finished with three assists, and Taylor Cox scored an unassisted goal for Gorman, which led 4-0 at halftime.

Calista Reyes scored Sierra Vista’s lone goal with a minute remaining.

Virgin Valley 8, Del Sol 0 — At Virgin Valley, Abbie Barnum had three goals and an assist, and Ally Wright scored twice as the Bulldogs blanked the Dragons.

Madison Cheney had a goal and an assist, and Hanna Haviland and Katie Zuniga supplied a goal apiece for Virgin Valley, which led 6-0 at halftime.

Kristina Anquiano and Alyson Cook each worked a half in goal and shared the shutout for Virgin Valley.

Desert Oasis 10, Durango 0 — At Desert Oasis, Miah Strellnauer netted a hat trick to lead the Diamondbacks to a decisive victory over Durango.

Madison Montellano, Audrey Dunn, Ashley Wood, Mazeli Rangel, Megan Kowalski, Brianna Lane and Neva Newling also added goals for Desert Oasis.

Goalkeepers Samantha Gato and Kelsey LeBoeuf combined on the shutout.
