ARBOR VIEW
League: Division I Northwest
Head coach: Jay Howard, 11th season
2014 record: 20-2-1 (8-0 Northwest, first)
Returning letter winners (starters): Ten (five)
Top athletes: D Madison Boyd (Jr.), D Melanie Ara (Jr.), MF Katelyn Laurente (Sr.)
Outlook: Along with the jersey numbers, the Aggies wear targets on their backs after winning three straight Division I state titles.
Running the streak to four won't be easy for Arbor View, which lost its top two scorers, who combined for 49 goals and 22 assists, to graduation.
Laurente (12 goals, 5 assists) is the leading returning scorer.
"Arbor View graduated six starters from the team that won the last three state championships," Howard said. "The 2015 team consists of three seniors, three juniors, 13 sophomores and one freshman. They are young but talented."

BISHOP GORMAN
League: Division I Southwest
Head coach: Doug Borgel, fifth season
2014 record: 10-3-1 (5-2-1 Southwest, third)
Returning letter winners (starters): Seven (five)
Top athletes: F Arlie Jones (Jr.), F Hannah Borgel (Jr.), D Norina Romo (Jr.), MF Savannah Day (Jr.)
Outlook: Hannah Borgel (20 goals, 8 assists) and University of Southern California commit Arlie Jones (11 goals, 10 assists in 2013) return to lead the Gaels' offense.
"The 2015 Bishop Gorman girls soccer team will be one of the youngest varsity teams in the school's history," coach Borgel said. "With only three seniors and six freshmen, the Gaels will lean heavily on their talented sophomore and junior classes.
"The return of USC commit Arlie Jones alongside last year's leading scorer Hannah Borgel will be a tough test for any defense in the valley. It will be the immediate impact of some highly-regarded freshmen that will be the difference for Gorman in 2015. Always a top challenger for the state title, 2015 should be no different for Bishop Gorman."

BOULDER CITY
League: Division I-A Sunrise
Head coach: Duncan Stark, ninth season
2014 record: 2-11-2 (2-10-2 Sunrise, sixth)
Returning letter winners (starters): Eleven (nine)
Top athletes: MF Oshauna Remy (Sr.), GK Rebecca Smith (So.), F Jordyn Trobiani (Jr.), F/MF Lauren Mullins (Sr.), MF Jeanne Carmel (Sr.), D Alexus Pohe (Jr.)
Outlook: The Eagles were young last season, and it showed in their record.
With nine starters back and the team having recovered from losing several goalkeepers to injury, Boulder City should see much better results this year.
Remy (7 goals, 3 assists) was the team's leading scorer last year.
"The team is looking strong this year, only losing two players to graduation," Stark said. "While still young, this group has played together for two years, and it shows in practice. The team goal this year is to make the playoffs, as we plan to surprise a few teams this year."

CANYON SPRINGS
League: Division I Northeast
Head coach: Jonathan Hillmer, third season
2014 record: 3-13-2 (1-7 Northeast, fifth)
Returning letter winners (starters): Seven (five)
Top athletes: MF/F Yareli Trujillo (Sr.), MF/F Leticia Godoy (Sr.), MF/D Anahi Sarabia (Jr.), MF/D Karla Ochoa (Sr.)
Outlook: The Pioneers are hoping to improve this year, and have a solid start with seven letter winners returning.
"Canyon Springs will have a solid team comprised of some veterans and some new blood to the program," Hillmer said. "Our goal this year, as always, is to make the playoffs."

CHAPARRAL
League: Division I-A Sunrise
Head coach: Jill Yacubovich, second season
2014 record: 2-13-1 (2-11-1 Sunrise, seventh)
Returning letter winners (starters): Nine (seven)
Top athletes: Stephanie Torres (Sr.), Deisy Beas (Sr.), Leticia Ibarra (Jr.)
Outlook: The Cowboys struggled last season, scoring just 12 goals, but have reason for optimism with seven starters returning.
"With nine returning varsity letter winners, including seven returning starters, the experience level of the individual players, as well as their experience playing together as a team, is a definite reason to expect an improved Chaparral team this upcoming season," Yacubovich said.
"These ladies, led by seniors Stephanie Torres and Deisy Beas, and junior Leticia Ibarra, have worked tirelessly in the offseason and throughout the summer to grow as a team in efforts to achieve their goals of improving their win record and making the Cowboy Nation proud."

CIMARRON-MEMORIAL
League: Division I Northwest
Head coach: George Morales, first season
2014 record: 5-9-4 (1-5-2 Northwest, fourth)
Returning letter winners (starters): Seven (four)
Top athletes: MF Jazmin Centeno (Sr.), F Natasha Martin (Sr.), MF Annalise Esparza (Jr.), D Morgan Hemphill (Jr.), D Shannon Dominguez (Jr.), D/MF Justice Rodriguez (So.)
Outlook: The Spartans lost leading scorer Jaymee Luke (19 goals) to graduation, but return seven letter winners and have a new coach in Morales.
Martin was second on the team with eight goals and probably will be one of the team's offensive leaders.
"Our team has positive expectations for this year," Morales said. "We have a few players returning from injury and several young, talented players. They are ready to make their mark and make a run toward the playoffs."

ELDORADO
League: Division I Southeast
Head coach: David Ostler, fourth season
2014 record: 5-13-1 (3-6-1 Southeast, fourth)
Returning letter winners (starters): Four (four)
Top athletes: MF Brianna Duran (Jr.), D Darianna Mayoral-Osuna (Jr.)
Outlook: Only four starters return for the Sundevils, who qualified for the Sunrise Region playoffs last year.
"This year's team is excited about the challenge of replacing so many starters and looks to get better as the season progresses," Ostler said. "Our motto is to 'Finish Strong,' and we hope to do just that."

FAITH LUTHERAN
League: Division I-A Sunset
Head coach: Steve Morrill, sixth season
2014 record: 18-7-3 (11-1-2 Sunset, first)
Returning letter winners (starters): 12 (nine)
Top athletes: F Kristi Chinn (Sr.), MF/F Megan Donnelly (Jr.), D Kayla Murai (Sr.), MF/F Brenna Rohnkohl (Sr.), D/MF Tierney Tomburo (Sr.)
Outlook: The defending Southern Region champions return nine starters, including some proven offensive firepower.
Rohnkohl (24 goals, 8 assists), Chinn (16 goals, 11 assists) and Donnelly (13 goals, 2 assists) all had strong seasons last year.
Murai and Tomburo return to help a defense that posted eight shutouts last year.
"With a large number of seniors, the Crusaders will lean heavily on experience from the group that has been to the past three Division I-A state semifinals," Morrill said. "The team will have a couple of holes to fill from the class of 2014, but the upcoming upperclassmen should contribute on a high level very quickly.
"Last year, the team persevered through a number of injuries and low team numbers, which ultimately led to solid team chemistry and determination. The Crusaders hopefully will limit the injuries this season in their push for success in the highly-competitive Division I-A Sunset League and a long run in the playoffs."

GREEN VALLEY
League: Division I Southeast
Head coach: Catherine Davis, third season
2014 record: 16-6-4 (6-2-2 Southeast, second)
Returning letter winners (starters): 13 (nine)
Top athletes: Alexis Kirson (Jr.), Kiyana Lopez (Sr.), Talia Lopez (Jr.), Shestan Lynam (Sr.)
Outlook: Kirson was the fourth-leading scorer in Southern Nevada last season with 37 goals and 14 assists. Talia Lopez (13 goals, 3 assists) and Lynam (6 goals, 7 assists) also return to spark the Gators.
Kiyana Lopez returns after posting 5½ shutouts last year.
"We had a very small graduating class last year, so we are looking at the same core players to carry our team through a strong season and far into the playoffs," Davis said. "We also have a lot of young talent, and we are excited to see how each player begins to fit into our possession style of play."

LEGACY
League: Division I Southwest
Head coach: Brian Granata, first season
2014 record: 9-9-3 (1-6-1 Southwest, fourth)
Returning letter winners (starters): Eight (seven)
Top athletes: D Avianna Urquidez (Sr.), MF Brittani Snook (Sr.), F Emma Singleton (So.), D Diana Perea (Jr.), MF Courtney Kashin (So.)
Outlook: Singleton (5 goals, 8 assists) and Snook (5 goals, 3 assists) are among seven returning starters for the Longhorns, who are coming off their first postseason appearance in the program's history.
Perea (3 goals, 4 assists), Urquidez and Kashin also return to help the defense.
"The team will feature a combination of strong senior leadership and young talent," Granata said. "Although Legacy will be fielding a much younger team than in previous years, it more than makes up for experience with speed, skill and talent.
"We will feature several players who have shown the ability to score from anywhere on the attacking half. It should be an exciting season."

PAHRUMP VALLEY
League: Division I-A Sunset
Head coach: Pamela Larmouth, seventh season
2014 record: 11-7 (8-6 Sunset, fifth)
Returning letter winners (starters): 10 (seven)
Top athletes: MF Paige Chafee (Sr.), MF Sydney Dennis (So.)
Outlook: Dennis (13 goals, 7 assists) and Chafee (10 goals, 4 assists) were the team's top two scorers last year and are back to lead the offense.
The Trojans were one point behind both Clark and Spring Valley for third place in the Sunset last season and are hoping to improve and qualify for the postseason.

PALO VERDE
League: Division I Southwest
Head coach: Frank Messina, ninth season
2014 record: 15-5-4 (6-1-1 Southwest, first)
Returning letter winners (starters): Sixteen (seven)
Top athletes: MF Jadyn Nogues (Jr.), F Macee Barlow (Jr.), MF Tessa Dwyer (Jr.)
Outlook: Barlow (16 goals, 4 assists), Dwyer (10 goals, 4 assists) and Nogues (6 goals, 7 assists) are three of 16 letter winners returning from a team that advanced to the Division I state semifinals.
"The returning players look to build from this performance and work hard for another Southwest title," Messina said. "Palo Verde's goals each year are to win the league, take the region title and normally vie for the Southern Nevada championship, which instead now includes challenging for the state title.
"Palo Verde's expectations certainly not have changed, and even though the road to the final stage may involve additional hard work, the players are determined to meet their goals and to challenge each other along the way."

RANCHO
League: Division I Southeast
Head coach: Christian Castellanos, second season
2014 record: 0-12-3 (0-7-3 Southeast, fifth)
Returning letter winners: Six
Top athletes: MF Yesenia Godoy (Sr.), D Faith White (So.), MF Valeria Valencia (Jr.), MF Morgan Wilson (Sr.), D Ruby Hurtado (Sr.), F Tania Aguilar (Sr.)
Outlook: The Rams struggled last season.
One of the keys will be improving an offense that managed just seven goals last season, but with six letter winners back, the Rams are hoping for more success.
"We are striving to be able to build and improve from the previous season, and build upon communication and strategy," Castellanos said. "The team has the courage and determination to come together and improve to be the best they can be."

SHADOW RIDGE
League: Division I Southwest
Head coach: Kalah Williams, second season
2014 record: 12-6-3 (6-2 Southwest, second)
Returning letter winners (starters): Twelve (seven)
Top athletes: GK Jenna Gallagher (Sr.), MF Stephanie Nava (Sr.), MF Brianna Haworth (Sr.), F Madison Garvin (Sr.)
Outlook: The Mustangs were the epitome of balance last year with 10 players scoring three goals each, yet no one with more than five.
Nava (5 goals, 5 assists) was one of five players with five goals and had the most assists on a team that relied heavily on its defense.
Gallagher returns after posting 11 shutouts last year.

SIERRA VISTA
League: Division I-A Sunset
Head coach: Ross Muir, fourth season
2014 record: 12-6-2 (9-4-1 Sunset, second)
Returning letter winners (starters): Eight (six)
Top athletes: GK Jayla Olson (Sr.), MF Angelina Iniguez (Sr.), MF Calista Reyes (Jr.)
Outlook: The Mountain Lions had never won a playoff game before advancing to the Division I-A state title match last year. Getting back will not be easy after losing five starters including 38-goal scorer Sophia Omidiji.
Reyes (11 goals, 3 assists) was the team's second-leading scorer, and Iniguez led the team in assists with nine. Olson posted four shutouts last year.
"We are coping with the loss of some great players," Muir said. "We are leaning on a small number of returners to maintain the hard-working mentality from last year.
"The new players on the team have shown great potential and dedication to go along with their youth. The experience of the returners should mix well with the new players, and we are confident to continue that success."

SILVERADO
League: Division I Northeast
Head coach: Jenna Carter, ninth season
2014 record: 12-4-2 (7-1 Northeast, first)
Returning letter winners (starters): Nine (six)
Top athletes: F Victoria Bravo (Jr.), GK Mikaila Becze (Jr.)
Outlook: Bravo (14 goals, 4 assists) and Becze (8 shutouts) both were All-Sunrise Region selections last year and lead a list of nine returnees.
"The Skyhawks are looking to be competitive in the Northeast League this season," Carter said. "Having had seven seniors graduate last year, Silverado will be relying on new leadership ion the field."

TECH
League: Division I-A Sunrise
Head coach: Josh Jones, 15th season
2014 record: 15-1-2 (13-0-1 Sunrise, first)
Returning letter winners (starters): Twelve (eight)
Top athletes: D Katy Orellana (Jr.), F Melissa Lopez (Jr.), MF Leslie Santos (Jr.), MF Veronica Gonzales (Jr.), MF Kanene Mossiah (So.), MF Valerie Webb (So.)
Outlook: The Roadrunners return eight starters from a team that lost only once last year — an overtime setback in the postseason — but must replace leading scorer Abrana Wielgosiak (45 goals, 15 assists) and third-leading scorer Adriana Guzman (9 goals, 17 assists).
Lopez (15 goals, 13 assists) was second on the team in scoring and solid junior and sophomore classes should pick up some of the slack.
"Tech returns a very solid group of girls who hope to continue to build off their third straight league title last season," Jones said. "If some of the veteran players and younger players can mesh together, they will be able to make another playoff run."

VIRGIN VALLEY
League: Division I-A Sunrise
Head coach: Bob Snell, 16th season
2014 record: 12-6-5 (9-2-3 Sunrise, second)
Returning letter winners (starters): Eleven (seven)
Top athletes: F Abbie Barnum (Jr.), GK Spencer Green (Sr.), MF Marlene Quirarte (Sr.)
Outlook: Barnum was fifth in Southern Nevada in goals last season with 33. Green was second in Southern Nevada in shutouts with 10½.
"The keys to our season will be staying healthy and how well our seniors step up and lead," Snell said. "We've had injuries to three of our projected starters during the offseason that set us back a little. We hope to have everyone healthy by the time league play begins.
"Our girls know they won't be sneaking up on people this year. They will have to play with high expectations hanging over their heads. It is uncharted territory for them, but I'm cautiously optimistic the girls will respond to the challenge."
