GOLF: August helps Centennial girls to Northwest League win

Nicole August shot 16-over-par 88 at Highland Falls on Tuesday to lead Centennial's girls golf team to victory in a Northwest League match.

Desert Oasis' Ashley Malone was the medalist with a 76, two strokes better than Cimarron-Memorial's Rachel Larsen. Bonanza's Rebecca Oertel was third with an 80.

Centennial had a team score of 362. Desert Oasis was second at 457, followed by Arbor View at 490.

Coronado defeats Green Valley

At Revere, Victoria Estrada carded a 1-under 35 to lead Coronado to a 149-199 win over Green Valley.

Olivia Yamamoto added a 37, and Sami Penor shot 38 for the Cougars. Coronado's Ashley Lung also shot 38, but was a non-scoring golfer.

Caroline Thomas led the Gators with a 43.
