GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Centennial dominates at Floyd Lamb Park

Centennial’s girls cross country team had the top four runners and nine of the top 11 to win a six-team meet at Floyd Lamb Park on Wednesday.

Alexis Gourrier won the 3.1-mile race in 20 minutes, 23.1 seconds, and was followed by teammates Kayla Roberts (21:20.0), Karina Haymore (21:47.5) and Delani Dietrich (21:50.5).

Centennial finished with 17 points. Arbor View was second with 65 points, followed by Faith Lutheran (67), Cimarron-Memorial (103) and Adelson School (149).

Faith Lutheran’s Kendall Larson (22:08.6) and Sadie Oakley (22:12.7) came in fifth and sixth.

Palo Verde wins three-team meet

At Shadow Ridge, Emma Wahlenmaier won the 2.6-mile race in 19:30 to help Palo Verde to victory.

Palo Verde had the top four finishers, as Jessica Biala came in second in 20:49. Grace Edwards was third at 21:00, and Tori Landers finished fourth at 21:32.

Shadow Ridge’s Lillie Cahoon was fifth at 21:41.

Palo Verde’s won with 16 points. Shadow Ridge was second with 54 points, ahead of Bishop Gorman (106).

Foothill lands gold, silver and bronze

At Cornerstone Park, the Falcons recorded the three best times to take the 2.5-mile race.

Myna Buckley led the pack at 21:32.4, just ahead of teammates Erica Williams (21:36.9) and Erica Schulz (22:09.8).

Foothill won with 23 points, and was followed by Green Valley (42), Coronado (73) and Basic (87).

Green Valley’s Mia Smith was fourth with a time of 22:18.6, and Foothill’s Makenzie Flynn rounded out the top five at 22:38.6.

Valley finishes with four in top five to win

At Las Vegas, Isabella Davis and three of her Valley teammates finished in the top five to lead the Vikings to a victory in the 2.7-mile race.

David finished in 19:45.1, with teammate Frida Reyes right behind at 20:22.0.

Valley finished with 16 points, and Las Vegas placed second with 44 points.

Eldorado’s Veronica Zamudio finished third at 21:04.4.
