GIRLS BASKETBALL: Price’s late free throw lifts Bulldogs by Chaparral

Savannah Price hit 1 of 2 free throws with two seconds left in the game Thursday as Virgin Valley's girls basketball team handed Chaparral its first Sunrise League loss of the season, 65-64 in Mesquite.

Briana Todd had 21 points, and Spencer Green added 19 points for the Bulldogs, who overcame an 18-12 first-quarter deficit.

Marcia Hawkins paced the Cowboys with 36 points.

Spring Valley 58, Mojave 40 — At Mojave, Kayla Harris scored 13 points as the Grizzlies clinched at least a share of the Sunset League title by downing the Rattlers.

Alyssa Scott added 12 points for Spring Valley, which led 20-2 after one quarter.

Kiara Lemon scored 19 points, and teammate Savannah Blanchard-Davis added 11 points for Mojave.

Boulder City 60, Desert Pines 44 — At Boulder City, Megan Morton had 29 points, 12 rebounds and four assists to lead the Eagles by the Jaguars.

Alea Lehr scored 10 points for Boulder City, which outscored Desert Pines 27-15 in the middle quarters.

Jordan Bailey led the Jaguars with 12 points, and See'Airra Evans Collins had 10 points for Desert Pines.

Legacy 54, Durango 45 — At Legacy, C'Aree Stevenson had 17 points, nine rebounds and six steals as the Longhorns topped the Trailblazers in overtime.

Legacy held a 45-44 lead late in regulation, but the Longhorns' bench was assessed a technical foul, which sent Durango's Brittany Romo to the free-throw line.

Romo, who led Durango with 23 points, made 1 of 2 free throws to force overtime.

Legacy scored all nine points in the extra period. TaEha Pankey added 12 points, and Otilia Price had 10 points for the Longhorns.

Laila Loring added 16 points for Durango.

Western 31, Pahrump Valley 29 — At Western, Jennessa Dunton had 10 points as the Warriors held off the Trojans.

Destiny Gonzalez added eight points for Western, which led 16-7 at the half.

Bethany Calvert paced Pahrump with 16 points.

Tech 54, Sunrise Mountain 40 — At Tech, Leslie Williams scored 26 points to lead the Roadrunners past the Miners.

Tayler Muwwakkil added 10 points for Tech, which led 23-13 at the half.

Tre'Licia Quinn scored 12 points, and teammate Shayne Siegel added 10 points for Sunrise Mountain.

Faith Lutheran 63, Cheyenne 46 — At Cheyenne, Bryanna Neagle scored 14 points to lead the Crusaders past the Desert Shields.

Madison Bocobo added 13 points, and Bobbi Tharaldson and Sam Caruth each scored 11 points for Faith Lutheran, which led 28-13 at the half.

Koreyl Godbolt led Cheyenne with 18 points.

Moapa Valley 42, Del Sol 23 — At Del Sol, Kinlee Marshall scored 12 points as the Pirates rolled by the Dragons.

Summer Evans added seven points for Moapa Valley, which led only 16-15 at the half.

Ana Ozuna led Del Sol with six points.

Sierra Vista 66, Clark 40 — At Sierra Vista, Shania Harper had 19 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots to lead the Mountain Lions by the Chargers.

Danielle Morrow added 18 points for Sierra Vista, which outscored Clark 22-6 in the second quarter to take control.

Marieka Dent led Clark with 13 points.

Bishop Gorman 62, Shadow Ridge 17 — At Gorman, Raychel Stanley scored 11 points to lead the Gaels in a rout of the Mustangs.

Madison Washington added 10 points for Gorman, which led 38-6 at the half.

Tamara Gisendaner scored six points to lead Shadow Ridge.
