GIRLS BASKETBALL: Patriots rally in fourth quarter, edge Pioneers

Paris Strawther had 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Liberty’s girls basketball team rallied for a 47-45 home win over Canyon Springs on Friday.

Kealy Brown had a team-high 15 points, and Kaily Kaimikaua scored 13 for the Patriots, who trailed 38-32 after three quarters but took the lead midway through the fourth.

Alexia Thrower had 17 points to lead the Pioneers. Daijhan Cooks scored 10 for Canyon Springs, which was 6-for-18 from the free-throw line.

Sunrise Mountain 56, Desert Pines 53 — At Sunrise Mountain, the Miners got a late steal and ran out the clock to survive and top the Jaguars.

Desert Pines forced a turnover with eight seconds to play and had a chance for a final shot before the steal ended the Jaguars’ comeback hopes.

Nina Carpenter led Sunrise Mountain with 20 points, including eight straight in the final minute. Ayla Diaz put in 12 points, while also scoring eight straight in the fourth quarter.

See’Arrah Evans-Collins had 16 points and 19 rebounds to lead Desert Pines, which led 48-46 with two minutes to play. Chrystian Myles added 15 points for the Jaguars.

Green Valley 55, Rancho 46 — At Rancho, Brooke Haney had a team-high 17 points to lead the Gators past the Rams.

Gracelle Garcia added 12 points for Green Valley, which led 30-22 at halftime.

Rancho’s LaKissa Martin scored 29 points.

Legacy 44, Mojave 39 — At Legacy, TaEha Pankey scored nine points as the Longhorns held off the Rattlers.

C’Aree Stevenson and Aviona Clark each added eight points for Longhorns, who sealed the victory at the free-throw line.

Mojave’s Charleea Armstrong led all scorers with 23 points.

Silverado 43, Las Vegas 33 — At Silverado, Deja Siaki scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Skyhawks past the Wildcats.

Silverado led 14-13 at the half, but pulled away in the third quarter.

Bianca Matlock led Las Vegas with 10 points.

Valley 54, Tech 46 — At Valley, Hannah Geberyesus scored 18 points to lead the Vikings over the Roadrunners.

Valley, which led 46-23 after three quarters, also got six points and 10 rebounds from Dajaah Lightfoot. Eimainei Thomas-Palmer added eight points for the Vikings.

Christine Sweet scored 20 points for Tech, and teammate Amanda Stanton added 10 points.

Desert Oasis 71, Bonanza 43 — At Bonanza, Mikayla Kirby had 29 points, and the Diamondbacks rolled past the Bengals.

Taryn Lampkin added 10 points for Desert Oasis, which led 39-21 at the half.

Alyssa Powers scored 28 to lead Bonanza.

Arbor View 62, Cimarron-Memorial 43 — At Cimarron, Janae Strode led four double-figure scorers with 17 points as the Aggies downed the Spartans.

Ariona Gill had 12 points, Caroline Rivera added 11 points and Katie Wolfram scored 10 for Arbor View, which outscored Cimarron 35-20 in the second half.

Ashli Tyus led Cimarron with 14 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists. Teammate Amoura Whitney had 11 points, and Zaquae Downton pulled down 14 rebounds for the Spartans.

Foothill 62, Eldorado 28 — At Foothill, the Falcons held a 30-13 halftime lead and never looked back in beating the Sundevils.

Taylor Turney and Gabby Doxtator each scored 10 points for Foothill. Katey Roquemore had nine points for the Falcons.

Daria Lomasney scored 11 points for Eldorado.

Boulder City 50, Moapa Valley 24 — At Boulder City, Megan Morton had 19 points and 13 rebounds as the Eagles defeated the Pirates.

Alyssa Ybarra added nine points for the Eagles, who held Moapa Valley to eight field goals.

Emily Mills led the Pirates with six points.

Coronado 57, Basic 40 — At Coronado, Samantha Green scored 14 points as the Cougars ran away from the Wolves.

Dajah Washington added 13 points for Coronado.

Mainland (New Zealand) 51, Durango 44 — At Durango, Nicole Ruske had 17 points, and Tessa Stewart-Morrison scored 16 as the Eagles topped the Trailblazers.

Aleisha Ruske added 12 points for Mainland, which led 28-18 at halftime.

Brittany Romo scored a game-high 20 points for Durango, and teammate Jazmin Chavez had 17 points and six steals.

Pahrump Valley 63, Coral Academy 11 — At Pahrump, Shayla Dance scored 10 points, and the Trojans rolled to the win.

Pahrump outscored Coral Academy 12-0 in the second quarter to take a 29-3 halftime lead.

Needles 47, Lincoln County 44 — At Panaca, Brenna Chavez scored 18 points as the Mustangs held on to defeat the Lynx.

Jane Antone scored 10 points for Needles.

Savannah Harr scored 19 points for Lincoln County.

Pahranagat Valley 57, Indian Springs 24 — At Indian Springs, Karley Whipple had 13 points as the Panthers rolled past the Thunderbirds.

Madalyn Taylor added 10 points for Pahranagat Valley, which led 20-3 after one quarter.

Sevanna Morgando led Indian Springs with 12 points.

Calvary Chapel 35, Lake Mead 16 — At Lake Mead, Nerel Martin had 10 points to lead the Lions over the Eagles.

Malia Lee added eight points for Calvary Chapel.

Jilian Morejon led Lake Mead with 11 points.

Agassi Prep 62, Mountain View 39 — At Agassi Prep, Azaria Conway-Wilson scored 19 points as the Stars blasted the Saints.

The Stars held a 23-20 halftime lead, but a 19-6 third-quarter run put the game out of reach.

Ayanna McClendon pulled down 14 rebounds for the Stars. Javoulaee Green added nine points and seven rebounds for Agassi Prep.

Rose Adkins had 13 points to lead the Saints, and teammate Kiley Murphy scored 11.
