GIRLS BASKETBALL: Niara Smith, Cimarron rally past Desert Pines

Niara Smith scored 12 of her game-high 18 points in the second half on Friday as Cimarron-Memorial’s girls basketball team rallied in the second half for a 54-43 win at Desert Pines.

Amoura Whitney added 14 points, and Tasia Moore scored 13 for Cimarron, which trailed 24-14. The Spartans outscored the Jaguars 20-4 in the third quarter to gain the lead and pull away.

Heaven Heacock led Desert Pines with 12 points. See’Airrah Evans-Collins added six points and 17 rebounds for the Jaguars.

Canyon Springs 50, Cheyenne 41 — At Canyon Springs, Yemiyah Morris scored 16 points to lead the Pioneers past the Desert Shields.

Ke’Ajanae Haley added 13 points for Canyon Springs, which led 34-20 at halftime.

Cheyenne’s Ejanae Coopwood had 14 points, and teammate Alaexiah Moore scored 13.

Pahrump Valley 35, Bonanza 25 — At Bonanza, Jill Smith scored 12 points to help the Trojans top the Bengals.

Isabelle Meza added 11 points for Pahrump, which led 19-9 at halftime.

Bonanza’s Madie Gonzalez led all scorers with 14 points.

Mojave 49, Sunrise Mountain 31 — At Mojave, Kiara Lemon scored 21 points to lead the Rattlers past the Miners.

Jazmine Kaufman added 11 points for Mojave, which led 21-12 at halftime.

Trinity Lavoll scored eight points to lead the Miners.

Moapa Valley 43, Boulder City 17 — At Overton, Kinlee Marshall led all scorers with 11 points as the Pirates took down the Eagles.

Lainey Cornwall added nine points for Moapa Valley, which led 17-1 after the first quarter.

Madison Manns led Boulder City with six points.

Laughlin 25, Calvary Chapel 18 — At Laughlin, Teresa Chapa had 11 points as Laughlin defeated Calvary Chapel.

Amanda Miller added nine points for Laughlin, which led 14-9 at halftime.

Malia Lee led Calvary Chapel with seven points.

Lake Mead 53, The Meadows 28 — At Lake Mead, Josey White scored 22 points to lead the Eagles by the Mustangs.

Lake Mead’s Jacea Tillman also finished in double figures with 10 points.

Marcella Peek led The Meadows with 11 points.

Agassi Prep 50, Lincoln County 42 — At Panaca, Sharmayne Finley had 19 points to help the Stars take down the Lynx.

Destiny Rover added 10 points for Agassi Prep.

Kailey Kelley led Lincoln County with 13 points. Brynlee Wadsworth had 12 points, and Sadie Soderborg scored 11 for the Lynx.

Beaver Dam 47, Sandy Valley 16 — At Littlefield, Arizona, Chyanne Dahlberg and Jailene Hernandez each scored 12 points as the Diamondbacks toppled the Sidewinders.

Samantha Cripe and Amanda John each scored seven for Sandy Valley.

Pahranagat Valley 60, Word of Life 22 — At Alamo, the Panthers began the game on a 17-1 run and never looked back en route to defeating the Eagles.

Round Mountain 47, Indian Springs 8 — At Round Mountain, the Knights routed the Thunderbirds.
