GIRLS BASKETBALL: Daniels clutch at the line as Chargers top Desert Shields

Monique Daniels was 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in the final two minutes Saturday to help Clark’s girls basketball team secure a 39-30 win over visiting Cheyenne.

Bobbi Floyd had 16 points to lead the Chargers, who were 17-for-22 from the line. Karlicia Stroughter added 10 points for Clark.

Bria Buchanan paced the Desert Shields with 14 points.

Faith Lutheran 44, Palo Verde 22 — At Faith Lutheran, Haley Vinson had 13 points as the Crusaders topped the Panthers.

Bobbi Tharaldson added 11 points for Faith Lutheran, which outscored Palo Verde 19-6 in the third quarter to pull away.

Serra (Calif.) 65, Coronado 36 — At Los Angeles, the Cavaliers took a 24-6 lead after one quarter and rolled past the Cougars.

Briana Johnson and Camille Hailey each scored 13 points for Serra.

Karlie Thorn led Coronado with 13 points, and teammate Samantha Green scored 10.

Laughlin 34, Calvary Chapel 33 — At Laughlin, Kayla Nelson’s basket with about 10 seconds to play gave the Cougars the win over the Lions.

Nelson finished with 15 points, and Brittany Schelper scored 11 for Laughlin.

Marissa Tiemann led Calvary Chapel with 16 points.

Lincoln County 51, Virgin Valley 32 — At Panaca, Hannah Hafen scored eight points to lead a balanced attack as the Lynx downed the Bulldogs.

Easton Tingey, Kayla Mathews and Kailey Kelley each added seven points for Lincoln County, which led 29-14 at the half.

Briana Todd scored 10 points to lead Virgin Valley.

The Meadows 56, Mountain View 24 — At The Meadows, Bailey Gosse had 26 points, five rebounds and six steals to lead the Mustangs over the Saints.

Hana Resch added 12 points and 12 rebounds for The Meadows, which led 23-10 at the half. Delaney Gosse had 10 rebounds, 10 assists, five steals and five blocked shots for the Mustangs, and sister Cassidy Gosse added 10 rebounds.

Rose Adkins led Mountain View with 12 points.
