GIRLS BASKETBALL: Balanced Gaels too much for Serra

Madison Washington led a balanced attack with 13 points Tuesday as Bishop Gorman's girls basketball team downed Serra (Calif.), 62-46 in the SoCal Holiday Prep Classic in San Diego.

Ciara Young and Megan Jacobs each had 12 points, and Raychel Stanley scored 11 for the Gaels, who used a 20-6 second-quarter run to take a 32-19 halftime lead.

Monique Smith led the Conquistadors with 18 points.

Legacy 51, Executive Prep (Calif.) 18 — At Ontario, Calif., Allanah Subira scored 14 points to lead the Longhorns by Executive Prep in the West Coast Holiday Festival.

Otilia Price added nine points for Legacy, which led 29-10 at halftime.

Legacy 54, Sylmar (Calif.) 46 — At Ontario, Calif., Price had 13 points, and the Longhorns used a 17-9 second-quarter burst to top the Spartans in the West Coast Holiday Festival.

TaEha Pankey had nine points for Legacy, which led 22-16 at the half.

California (Calif.) 61, Sierra Vista 24 — At Anaheim, Calif., Gabby Edmond had 10 points to lead the Grizzlies by the Mountain Lions in the Lady Rebel Holiday Tournament.

Marley Fernandes had nine points for California, which led 17-2 after one quarter.

Danielle Morrow led Sierra Vista with eight points.

Piute (Utah) 60, Lincoln County 46 — At Cedar City, Utah, Macey Dalton scored 24 points to guide the Thunderbirds by the Lynx in the Steve Hodson Classic.

Mickell Morgan added 11 points for Piute, which used a 37-16 run in the middle quarters to take control.

Hannah Hafen had 14 points and 14 rebounds, and Savannah Harr added 13 points for Lincoln County.

Paloma Valley (Calif.) 50, Boulder City 36 — At Murrieta, Calif., Reyna Galbreath scored 16 points to lead the Wildcats by the Eagles in the Nighthawk Classic.

Laniya Smith added eight points for Paloma Valley, which trailed 27-19 at halftime but used an 18-3 third-quarter run to take control.

Megan Morton had 13 points, and Julia Worrall scored 11 for Boulder City.
