GIRLS BASKETBALL: Balanced attack leads Spring Valley over Canyon Springs

Kayla Harris and Alyssa Scott each had 14 points Wednesday as Spring Valley’s girls basketball team earned a 55-44 road win over Canyon Springs.

Lynnae Wilds and Essence Booker each had nine points for the Grizzlies, who shot 11-for-15 from the free-throw line.

Canyon Springs’ Yemiyah Morris had 18 points for the Pioneers.

Del Sol 51, Sunrise Mountain 42 — At Del Sol, Ana Ozuna had 17 points and eight assists to lead the Dragons to victory over the Miners.

Markay Merchant supplied 12 points and 12 rebounds for Del Sol, and teammate Sabrina Duncan added 13 points.

Sunrise Mountain’s Emani White led all scorers with 25 points.

Laughlin 39, GV Christian 12 — At Laughlin, Amanda Miller scored 16 points as the Cougars easily handled the Eagles.

Nicole Petrich added 10 points for Laughlin, which led 26-6 at halftime.

Hope Watson scored four points for GV Christian.

Adelson School 38, Word of Life 37 — At Adelson School, Brittany Risko scored 16 points, and teammate Laurel Rosenberg hit the game-winning layup in the game’s final minute to give the Lions a win over the Eagles.

Caroline Altman had 10 points for Adelson School.

Arieyanna Banks and Taliyah Wilson each scored 14 points to lead Word of Life.
