The sophomore forward scored 15 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter as the Chargers outscored Campbell County (Wyoming) 43-17 in the final eight minutes to earn an 85-77 win in the championship game of the Energy Classic in Gillette, Wyoming.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Dre’una Edwards, Liberty

The junior forward had 15 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots in a 60-47 win over Downey (California) in the championship game of the Gator Winter Classic at Green Valley. Edwards averaged 16.8 points in six tournament games.

Antonio Saldate, Las Vegas

The junior won the 120-pound division at the Las Vegas Holiday Classic by going 6-0 over the prestigious two-day tournament.

ARBOR VIEW — Boys basketball player Comillion Smith averaged 13.4 points at the Tri-State Holiday Invitational, leading the Aggies to the Elite Division championship.

BONANZA — Wrestler Elias Aguilar won the 220-pound title at the Las Vegas Holiday Classic.

CENTENNIAL — Boys basketball player Alijah Henderson had 14 points in a 69-49 win over Palo Verde. Girls basketball player Melanie Isbell scored 12 points in a 62-14 victory over Palo Verde.

FAITH LUTHERAN — Boys basketball player Nic Maccioni averaged 20.5 points at the Rancho Mirage Holiday Invitational in Rancho Mirage, California.

GREEN VALLEY — Girls basketball player Brooke Haney averaged 17.2 points to help the Gators finish second in the Gold Division at the Gator Winter Classic. Wrestler Will Zernich won the 113-pound championship at the Sierra Nevada Classic in Reno.

MOJAVE — Flag football player Chayanne Johnson had five catches against Shadow Ridge. Wrestler Devin Winbrush placed first at 195 pounds at the Wolves Rumble at Basic, posting two pins and a technical fall.

PAHRUMP VALLEY — Girls basketball player Helen Vann had 12 points, seven rebounds, one steal and a blocked shot against Virgin Valley.

PALO VERDE — Girls basketball player Ariana Davis averaged 11.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.0 steals at the Las Vegas Holiday Classic, helping the Panthers win the Silver bracket.

SIERRA VISTA — Flag football player Courtney O’Neal rushed for a total of 315 yards and five touchdowns in wins over Liberty and Desert Oasis. Wrestler Noah Parker won his 145-pound match by fall in 1 minute, 3 seconds.
