Quincy Burts will take over Valley’s football program next season, the school announced Thursday.

Burts replaces George Baker, who was 2-17 in two seasons with the Vikings.

Valley was 2-8 in the fall. The Vikings snapped a 21-game losing streak with a 34-21 victory over Boulder City on Sept. 16.

Valley also beat Rancho 44-8 and finished fourth in the Northeast League, making the playoffs for the first time since 2011.

Burts served as co-defensive coordinator at Sunrise Mountain last season and previously was defensive coordinator at Eldorado. He was a four-year letterman at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan.
