Stevenson helps Centennial down Legacy

Rhamondre Stevenson rushed for 196 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries, and quarterback Juan Rodriguez threw two TD passes and ran for a score Friday to help Centennial’s football team to a 47-13 win over visiting Legacy.

Rodriguez found Savon Scarver over the middle for a 91-yard TD strike, and Stevenson provided a 1-yard TD plunge to put Centennial (3-0) ahead 13-0 with 3:22 left in the second quarter.

Legacy’s Kourde Roberts hauled in a 35-yard TD pass from Tanoa Alapati to cut the lead to 13-6.

Rodriguez connected with Ivan Ochoa-Serrano on a 19-yard score with nine seconds left in the first half to push the Bulldogs’ lead to 20-6.

After another 1-yard TD run by Stevenson in the third quarter to cap a 10-play, 60-yard drive, Rodriguez added a 2-yard TD scamper with 9:43 left in the fourth quarter to push the Centennial lead to 34-6.

Alapati completed a 50-yard TD pass to Roberts to make it 34-13, but Legacy (0-3) got no closer.

Stevenson added a 53-yard TD run followed by a 45-yard score up the middle on consecutive drives.

Each team had more than 100 yards in penalties. Rodriguez finished 6 for 13 with 150 yards.

DeMichael Walker rushed for 108 yards on 19 carries, and Alapati tossed for 137 yards for Legacy, which got two sacks and eight tackles from Terrell Washington.
