Ingram’s five TDs help Panthers move into state final

David Ingram scored five touchdowns, including four in less than five minutes in the third quarter, to help Pahranagat Valley to a 76-32 win over Virginia City in a Division IV football semifinal game Friday night in Alamo.

The Panthers (11-0) won their 92nd consecutive game, pulling them within a game of the national 8-man record set by Shattuck (Okla.) from 2003 to 2009.

Pahranagat Valley will attempt to tie the record Nov. 21 when it faces Whittell (11-0) for the state title at Dayton.

Ingram hauled in an 80-yard pass from Tabor Maxwell in the first quarter, as the Panthers scored twice in their first three offensive plays. Ingram added touchdown runs of 28, 28 and 55 yards and a 61-yard TD reception from Maxwell in a span of 4 minutes, 48 seconds in the third quarter as Pahranagat Valley expanded a 46-20 lead to 76-26.

Ingram ran for 148 yards on 11 carries and caught four passes for 168 yards for the Panthers.

Maxwell completed 13 of 18 passes for 402 yards and five touchdowns for the Panthers, who got touchdown runs of 3 and 1 yards by Christian Higbee.

Ireland Franklin had three touchdown receptions for the Muckers (8-3).
