Clark County School District releases league alignments for 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons

The Clark County School District on Tuesday released the league alignment for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.

On Tuesday morning, the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association confirmed the Nevada Rubric numbers for the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons, which resulted in Faith Lutheran, Clark, Sierra Vista and Spring Valley all moving from Division I-A to Class 4A for next season. No schools moved from Division I to Class 3A for next season.

As a result, there will be 25 schools in Class 4A (previously called Division I) and 12 schools in Class 3A for next year.

The CCSD’s athletic office determined league alignment for the four Class 4A leagues and the two Class 3A leagues, and did not take into account rubric points or finishes. As a result, the top six point totals in the Nevada Rubric in the Sunrise Region all ended up in the Southeast League.
