Bishop Gorman’s Malik Hausman commits to Arizona

The Southern Nevada to Arizona pipeline continued Monday.

Bishop Gorman cornerback Malik Hausman became the third local football player in the class of 2017 to orally commit to play for the Arizona Wildcats, joining Desert Pines teammates Tony Fields and Edgar Burrola. Hausman’s commitment is nonbinding, and Arizona’s coaches cannot comment until he signs a letter of intent.

“Excited to say that I am committed to the University of Arizona. #BearDown #ATEAM17,” Hausman tweeted.

Hausman, a three-star prospect, according to Scout.com, also had scholarship offers from Boise State, Colorado State, Hawaii, New Mexico and UNLV.

The 5-foot-11-inch, 165-pound standout was an all-state honorable mention last season as a junior. He finished with 42 tackles, including 30 solo tackles, and had three interceptions, one fumble recovery and three passes deflected.
