VOLLEYBALL: McDonald, Callister help Wolves top Chaparral
Brad McDonald and Jackson Callister each had 15 kills to help Basic’s boys volleyball team to a 25-20, 25-21, 20-25, 25-21 win at Chaparral on Friday.
Matt Gajeski had 40 assists, and Jacob Fulton added four blocks for the Wolves.
Isai Barrios had 21 kills, and Ezequiel Borrero dished out 31 assists to lead the Cowboys. Ever Favela had seven digs, and Cesar Mendoza added six digs for Chaparral.
Green Valley 3, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, James Reed had nine kills and eight digs to lead the Gators to a 25-16, 25-16, 25-21 win over the Longhorns.
Jordan Ellis added three kills and two aces, and Brian Barkemeyer-Katz had three kills and 23 assists for Green Valley.
Omari Wheeler put down nine kills, and Nephi Purcell had 22 assists and two aces for Legacy.
