VOLLEYBALL: Kampshoff, Wildcats hold off Longhorns

Brandon Kampshoff tallied 11 kills and six digs Tuesday as Las Vegas’ boys volleyball team beat visiting Legacy, 25-15, 25-17, 21-25, 25-21.

Luis Wong added 25 assists and eight digs, and Ronell Sueno had five kills and two digs for Las Vegas.

Matthew Cook led Legacy with 33 assists. Omari Wheeler had 19 digs, seven digs and four aces, and Nephi Purcell added nine digs for the Longhorns, who also got five kills and two digs from Trent Hoeffgen.

Palo Verde 3, Durango 0 — At Durango, Haden Van Orden dished out 27 assists to lead the Panthers to a 25-19, 25-16, 30-28 sweep of the Trailblazers.

Chandler Juilfs supplied 10 kills and seven digs, and teammate Scott Solan had eight kills and four blocks for Palo Verde.

Andre Shabazz had 28 assists and seven digs, Michael Diggins tallied 10 digs and eight kills, and Jaylen Clark contributed nine kills and six digs to pace Durango.

Bishop Gorman 3, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Jacob Taylor tallied 14 kills and 12 digs to help guide the Gaels to a 25-22, 26-24, 25-22 win over the Mustangs.

Charles Pollnow had 19 digs and eight kills, and teammate Trevor Papcock contributed 62 assists and seven digs for Gorman.

Valley 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Justin Sandoval had 26 assists, and Marty Heavey tallied 17 kills as the Vikings swept the Pioneers, 25-9, 25-8, 25-12.

Jared Marchello added eight kills and three aces, and Juan Magana had six kills for Valley.

Liberty 3, Silverado 2 — At Silverado, the Patriots hung on to beat the Skyhawks, 25-23, 26-24, 24-26, 15-25, 25-23.

Kris Coe led Silverado with 19 kills and 10 blocks. Taz Goon added 13 kills, and Cody Steckel dished out 47 assists for the Skyhawks, who also got 26 digs from Michael Gonzalez.

Clark 3, Chaparral 1 — At Chaparral, the Chargers won in four sets.
