VOLLEYBALL: Farrington, Basic top Patriots in five

Auston Farrington had 14 kills on Wednesday to lead Basic’s boys volleyball team to a 25-27, 25-20, 25-18, 22-25, 15-6 road win over Liberty.

Joaquin Pequeno and Austin McDonald each added 10 kills for the Wolves, who got 38 assists from Taylor Dyer and six blocks from Calvin Knuppel.

Brandon Baliza paced the Patriots with 15 kills. D.J. Norris added 12 kills, and Brycen Ivester had 24 assists for Liberty.

Foothill 3, Eldorado 1 — At Eldorado, Trevor Robison notched 11 digs, eight kills and three blocks, and Taeg Williams had 32 assists to help the Falcons beat the Sundevils, 25-18, 22-25. 25-17, 25-22.

Colin Curi added 12 kills and seven blocks for Foothill.

Eldorado’s Michael Thomas had 32 assists, and teammate Dakota Shults added 12 kills. Jacob Tibbs recorded 11 kills for the Sundevils, who got nine blocks from Jake Hollingsworth.

Centennial 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, Chet Durkin had 34 assists and eight aces, and Tanner Durkin notched 11 kills as the Bulldogs swept the Spartans, 25-17, 25-5, 25-12.

Parker Grimes had seven kills, and teammate Nyjaee Washington added six kills for Centennial.

Cimarron’s Roy Gonzalez had 10 digs and two kills, and Johnny Centeno supplied five digs and three kills for the Spartans.

Coronado 3, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Logan Dickover led a balanced attack with 11 assists and six aces, and Jaron Graham had 10 digs as the Cougars swept the Dragons, 25-12, 25-12, 25-16.

Coronado’s Travis Boman notched eight kills and four aces, Max Osmundson had eight kills and three aces, Blake Wilcox supplied 11 assists and two aces and Travis Little added five kills.

Del Sol’s Kyle Collins tallied six digs, five kills, three aces and two assists, and Blane Quitog had seven assists, two blocks and two digs for the Dragons, who got three digs, two kills and two aces from La’akea Cabanas.

Legacy 3, Bonanza 0 — At Legacy, Braden Liu had 40 assists to propel the Longhorns to a 25-14, 25-14, 25-15 victory over the Bengals.

Tanner Compton put down 19 kills, Trent Compton supplied 11 digs and nine kills, and Anthony Cabrera added 15 digs for Legacy, which got 10 kills from Zaire Franklin.

Andrew Jensen led Bonanza with six kills and four digs. Brian Clow and Kellen Layne each added five kills, and Joshua Lee had 17 assists for the Bengals.

Mojave 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, Jovan Carrazco had 27 assists to lead the Rattlers to a 25-16, 26-24, 25-19 win over the Desert Shields.

Clayton Fontano supplied nine kills and five blocks, and Jordan Glenn had seven kills for Mojave.

Deonte Perkins led Cheyenne with 12 digs and eight kills.

Clark 3, Western 0 — At Western, Walter Regalado supplied eight assists and six aces to guide the Chargers to a 25-6, 25-15, 25-17 sweep of the Warriors.

Daniel Pedroza served six aces, and Walt Benda notched five aces and four kills for Clark.

Desert Oasis 3, Bishop Gorman 1 — At Desert Oasis, Devin Lewis had 12 kills and six blocks to help the Diamondbacks to a 23-25, 25-20, 25-14, 25-20 win over the Gaels.

Qwade Huff had 10 kills and seven blocks for the Diamondbacks, who got 15 digs from Andrew Vasquez and 29 assists from Saunoa Afoa.
