VOLLEYBALL: Barrios leads Chaparral over Tech

Isai Barrios had 10 kills and 13 digs, and Ever Favela added eight kills and 14 digs Tuesday to lead Chaparral’s boys volleyball team to a 25-16, 25-17, 25-27, 25-21 road win over Tech.

Ray Almanda had seven kills, five assists and four digs, and Ezequiel Borrero notched five kills and four assists for Chaparral, which got three kills and 10 digs from Cesar Mendoza.

Gary Johnson and Jesse Rojas had nine kills apiece for Tech. Julius Barnes added 31 assists for the Roadrunners.

Del Sol 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Del Sol, Blane Quitog notched 18 digs, 12 kills and four aces to guide the Dragons to a 25-19, 25-20, 25-23 victory over the Miners.

Alec Monetemayor had 25 assists for Del Sol. Nate Bryan had seven kills, seven digs and four aces, and teammate Anthony Nehme added six kills, five digs and four aces for the Dragons.

Rodney King led Sunrise Mountain with 25 digs. Emerald Acasili had nine kills and four digs, and Trevor White had seven kills for the Miners.

Desert Pines 3, Word of Life 0 — At Desert Pines, Ortega Wiltz had 10 kills to help the Jaguars beat the Eagles, 25-7, 25-15, 25-17.

Estanislau Lansangan added five kills and seven assists, Josh Moran had six aces, and Johnathan Justo had five aces for Desert Pines.

Paul Kelker had two aces, and Elijah Hoye had two blocks for Word of Life.
