VOLLEYBALL: Banks, Desert Shields rally to top Cimarron

Alahjan Banks had 15 kills and three aces Friday to help Cheyenne’s boys volleyball team rally for a 14-25, 25-21, 18-25, 25-22, 15-11 victory over visiting Cimarron-Memorial.

Lanson Keomaka had 26 assists for the Desert Shields.

Cimarron’s Joe Tito had 10 kills, and Erick Forbush added nine kills and 11 digs for the Spartans.

Palo Verde 3, Arbor View 1 — At Palo Verde, Michael Simister had 26 kills, and Cole Wilson dished out 44 assists in the Panthers’ 25-22, 25-4, 22-25, 28-26 win over the Aggies.

Jonathan Hecker had 21 digs, and teammate Jacob Scheer had 19 digs for Palo Verde.

Kaneen Manuel had 16 kills, and Sam Buckels added 13 kills for Arbor View, which got eight blocks from Treven Clizbe.

Mojave 3, Desert Oasis 1 — At Desert Oasis, Alex Carvalho had 13 kills and 14 digs to help the Rattlers top the Diamondbacks, 25-17, 25-20, 27-29, 25-20.

Jordan Glenn had 17 kills for Mojave, and teammate Jason Zambrano added 51 assists.

Billy Cameron had 12 kills and seven digs for Desert Oasis. Bryson Sadama had 28 assists for the Diamondbacks, who got six kills and four blocks from Kalil Smith.

Centennial 3, Valley 0 — At Valley, Tanner Durkin had 12 kills and 10 digs to help the Bulldogs to a 25-19, 25-20, 25-23 victory over the Vikings.

Cody Graham added 24 digs, and teammate Andrew Boggess served eight aces for Centennial.

Valley’s Alex Sandoval had 24 assists and nine digs, and Jared Marchello added eight kills, 12 digs and three blocks. Marty Heavey had eight kills and eight digs for the Vikings.
