TRACK: Quentin Scott leads Centennial boys to win

Quentin Scott won the long jump and high jump and was second in the triple jump Tuesday to lead Centennial’s boys track team to an 87-45 win over host Faith Lutheran.

Scott won the long jump with a mark of 21 feet, 4 inches and cleared 5-6 to take the high jump. He also ran on the winning 400 relay team.

Centennial’s James Johnson won the 200-meter dash in 24.07 seconds and also placed first in the triple jump with a leap of 45-8½. Johnson also was second in the long jump.

Randall Jubilee won the 800 (2:04.44) for the Bulldogs and also ran on the winning 400 and 800 relay teams. Tre Harley won the 400 (51.21) and ran on the winning 800 relay team for Centennial.

Faith Lutheran’s Sever Stewart won the 300 hurdles in 44.5 and placed second in the 110 hurdles.

Anthony Pace takes two distance events for Gorman

At Bishop Gorman, Anthony Pace won the 1,600 (4:53.41) and 3,200 (11:17.08) for the host Gaels in a meet with Durango and Spring Mountain.

Gorman’s Nikolas Bracken was first in the 100 (11.26) and long jump (21-8) and ran on the winning 400 relay team.

Durango’s Justice Stroy won the 200 (24.07) and ran on the winning 800, 1,600 and 3,200 relay teams.

Jacob Bourgault won the 300 hurdles (42.74) and was second in the 110 hurdles for the Trailblazers.

Spring Mountain’s Arthur Foster won the discus (127-1) and was second in the shot put.

Liberty edges Las Vegas

At Las Vegas, Dominique Turner won the pole vault (11-0) and long jump (20-2) and placed third in the triple jump to lead Liberty to a 74-72 win over the Wildcats.

Eduardo Soto placed first in the 1,600 (4:54.94) and 3,200 (10:49.38) for the patriots, and teammate Dahmany Whittle won the discus (156-3) and was second in the shot put.

Las Vegas’ Marlon Harrison won the triple jump (42-1½) and was second in the high jump.

GIRLS

Pam Wilmore won two individual events and ran on a winning relay team as Centennial’s girls track team rolled to a 104-28 win over host Faith Lutheran on Tuesday.

Wilmore won the 100 in 12.61 and took the 200 in 27.03. She also ran on the winning 400 relay team.

Kanani Lasike swept the throws for the Bulldogs. Lasike won the shot put with a throw of 29 -4½, and took the discus with a mark of 122-1.

Julia Weaver was first in the 800 (2:32.27) and ran on the winning 3,200 relay team for Centennial.

Faith Lutheran’s Bryanna Neagle took the 300 hurdles (51.64)and high jump (5-2).

Gorman’s Gwenavere Bobowicz captures three events

At Bishop Gorman, Gwenavere Bobowicz won the 100 (13.34), long jump (17-6) and triple jump (36-6) for the Gaels in a meet with Durango.

Bobowicz also ran on the winning 800 relay team.

Gorman’s Elizabeth Jamrozy won the 200 (29.17) and 400 (1:05.84) and ran on the 800 relay team. Jayden Krmpotich was first in the 800 (2:42.95) and 1,600 (6:17.86) for the Gaels, and teammate Jill McPherson-Kellogg won the shot put (31-5) and discus (109-7).

Patriots top Wildcats

At Las Vegas, Athiya Iese won the shot put (38-10) and discus (106-5) to lead Liberty to an 85-51 win over the Wildcats.

Nelitta Baldwin won the 400 (1:09.7) and was second in the 800 for Liberty.

Las Vegas’ Teleda Williams won the 100 (12.82) and 200 (25.99).
