SOCCER: Arellano helps Sunrise Mountain boys top Bulldogs

Jose Arellano scored two goals, and Marco Ruiz had three assists Saturday to help Sunrise Mountain’s boys soccer team to a 4-0 home win over Virgin Valley.

Marcos Vega and Hector Munoz each added a goal for the Miner.

Carlos Cruiz made four saves to earn the shutout.

GIRLS

Legacy 5, Virgin Valley 0 — At Legacy, Nadia Hernandez had three goals and an assist to power the Longhorns past the Bulldogs.

Diana Perea added a goal and two assists, and Emma Singleton had a goal and an assist for Legacy.

Alysa Cool made seven saves to earn the shutout.
