BOYS SOCCER: Chargers hand Warriors first league loss since 2011

Oscar Mata had a goal and an assist Tuesday as Clark’s boys soccer team handed host Western its first league loss since 2011, 2-1.

Jose Martinez also scored for the Chargers.

Eduardo Arellano scored for the Warriors, who were 28-0-6 in Sunset League play since moving to Division I-A before the 2012 season.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Desert Oasis 2 — At Cimarron, Garrick Quackenbush scored three goals as the Spartans held off the Diamondbacks.

Marcellous Curtis and Izeah Guiao scored for Desert Oasis.

Pahrump Valley 4, Sierra Vista 3 — At Pahrump, Kevin Pereira had a goal and two assists, and Nick Nelson added a goal and an assist to lead the Trojans by the Mountain Lions.

Paul Holmes and Adrian Maldonado also scored for Pahrump.

Tanner Erwin, Daniel Perez and Adam Felipe Dumo scored for Sierra Vista.

Valley 3, Liberty 2 — At Liberty, Eric Sanchez, Alejandro Parra and Marco Gonzales each scored once as the Vikings built a 3-0 halftime lead and held off the Patriots.

Joey Hollimon scored twice for Liberty.

Centennial 3, Bonanza 2 — At Bonanza, Austin Brooks tallied three goals to help the Bulldogs overcome a 2-1 halftime deficit and edge the Bengals.

Manuel Ponce and Carlos Garay scored for Bonanza.

Faith Lutheran 5, Cheyenne 2 — At Cheyenne, the Crusaders got goals from Phil Starcher, Harut Khachoyan, Brandon Hann, Chase Carey and Dylan Rath as they rallied to beat the Desert Shields.

Connor Castro had a goal and an assist, and Luis Cabrera scored for Cheyenne.

Spring Valley 6, Adelson School 1 — At Adelson School, Sergio Borboa and Tyson Perkins each scored two goals to help propel the Grizzlies past the Miners.

David Van Hoose and Jose Lopez also scored for Spring Valley.

Dylan Soersman scored for Adelson School.

Canyon Springs 8, Silverado 1 — At Canyon Springs, Ivan Adame scored four goals to lead the Pioneers by the Skyhawks.

Daniel Moran had two goals and an assist, and Jose Gonzalez also scored twice for Canyon Springs.

Mauricio Cristales converted a penalty kick for Silverado.
