GOLF: James helps Gaels defeat Pahrump

Christian James shot a 4-over-par 76 at Palm Valley on Thursday to earn medalist honors and lead Bishop Gorman’s boys golf team to a 411-451 win over Pahrump Valley.

Adonis LeBlue added a 77, and Owen Rosebeck shot 80 for the Gaels.

Austen Ancell led Pahrump with an 80.

Coronado defeats Jesuit

At Anthem, Jalen Hodges shot a 2-over 74 to help Coronado to a 388-405 victory over Jesuit (Oregon).

Joey Dotta shot 75, Grant McKay added a 76, and Dylan Fritz shot 77 for the Cougars.

The Crusaders’ Daniel Terrell shot 73 to earn medalist honors.

Coronado shot a second-day 19-over 307 for a two-day total of 27-over 603 to win the Class 5A boys state golf championship at Coyote Springs Golf Club in Moapa Valley.
