The freshman won the 126-pound Sunrise Region title by fall in 32 seconds, the fastest championship match of any Class 4A wrestler. He also won by fall in the semifinals.

The sophomore quarterback completed 23 of 42 passes for 388 yards and seven touchdowns last week to help the seventh-ranked Wildcats clinch the Northeast League title with wins over Valley and Rancho.

ARBOR VIEW — Wrestler Peyton Prussin was the first female in the Sunset Region to qualify for state, doing so by placing third at the region tournament at 106 pounds. Wrestler Matthew Alejandro won the Sunset Region tournament at 160 pounds via technical fall.
BOULDER CITY — Wrestler D.J. Reese won the Class 3A Southern Region title at 126 pounds by fall, and heled the Eagles win the team championship.
CHAPARRAL — Boys basketball player Samuel Porras had a triple-double against Tech with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, and had 17 points seven rebounds and six assists against Virgin Valley.
CIMARRON-MEMORIAL — Wrestler Nathaniel Rodriguez on an 11-0 major decision to claim the Sunset Region title at 120 pounds. Wrestler Daniel Rodriguez won the region title by fall at 126 pounds, and wrestler Stanton Peay won a 3-0 decision in the region finals at 152 pounds.
CORONADO — Girls basketball player Haley Tyrell averaged 13 points 10.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in two league games against Basic and Green Valley.
MOJAVE — Flag football player Anahi Rosales ran 22 times for 101 yards and a touchdown, and caught five passes for 63 yards and a touchdown to help the Rattlers topple Desert Pines.
MOUNTAIN VIEW — Boys basketball player Daniel Reyes had 19 points and hit five 3-pointers against Lake Mead. Girls basketball player Nia Van Kempen had 13 points and 12 rebounds against Lake Mead.
SHADOW RIDGE — Wrestler Javier Zuniga won the Sunset Region championship at 106 pounds in a 7-4 decision.
SIERRA VISTA — Wrestler Michael Lopez finished in third place at 126 pounds at the Sunset Region tournament, qualifying him for the state tournament.Girls basketball player Shania Harper scored 21 points and had 10 rebounds against Bonanza.
