BOYS BASKETBALL: Juhas, Dragons beat Bulldogs

JonRoss Juhas had 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Noah Spearman scored 12 points on Wednesday to help Del Sol’s boys basketball team to a 61-53 home win over Virgin Valley.

Rashaun Lawson and Jonathan Spearman each supplied 11 points for the Dragons, who led 40-20 at halftime.

Hogan Fowles had 12 points for the Bulldogs.

Sierra Vista 64, Western 35 — At Sierra Vista, Maka Ellis scored 23 points as the Mountain Lions cruised by the Warriors.

Randal Grimes had 10 points and 13 rebounds, and Payton Dickerson added 10 points, eight rebounds and eight assists for Sierra Vista, which led 23-4 after one quarter.

Kwan Carter paced Western with 16 points.

Boulder City 47, Tech 29 — At Boulder City, Tyler Newby scored 12 points to lift the Eagles over the Roadrunners.

Zach Murphy added nine points for Boulder City, which led 11-0 after the first quarter.

DeShawn Williams had 13 points for Tech.

Chaparral 67, Moapa Valley 44 — At Chaparral, Marc Silas had 13 points and six assists, and Gabriel Brown added 11 points to help the Cowboys top the Pirates.

Richard Nelson grabbed 11 rebounds for Chaparral, which led 34-18 at halftime.

Dalton Gordon paced Moapa Valley with 10 points.

Fresno (Calif.) Edison 61, Canyon Springs 59 — At Clovis, Calif., Jamont Wilson scored 14 points and the Tigers edged the Pioneers in the Nike Invitational.

Canyon Springs’ Jordan Davis led all scorers with 27 points. Channel Banks added 13 points, and D’Quan Crockett scored 10 for the Pioneers, who led 29-28 at the half.
