TENNIS: Doubles sweep lifts Valley boys by Eldorado

Valley's boys tennis team swept the nine doubles sets Thursday on its way to a 15-3 win at Eldorado.

The doubles teams of Alex Gustillo and Jeremiah Williams, Michael Brickell and Kenneth Huynh, and A.J. Duff and Nicholas Jianu each went 3-0 for the Vikings.

Trevor Swain was 3-0 in singles for the Sundevils.

Bishop Gorman 16, Faith Lutheran 2 — At Gorman, Cole Davidson and Jack Silvestri teamed to go 3-0 in doubles as the Gaels beat the Crusaders.

Aaron Bailey and Skylar Davidson each went 2-0 in singles for Gorman.

Maxwell Blum was 2-1 in singles for Faith Lutheran.

Desert Pines 11, Durango 7 — At Durango, Adan Cano and Kim Halasan went 3-0 in doubles to power the Jaguars over the Trailblazers.

Marc Viernes was 3-0 in singles for Durango.

Palo Verde 13, The Meadows 5 — At Palo Verde, Dylan Levitt and Michael Safbom each went 2-0 in singles to lead the Panthers over the Mustangs.

Palo Verde's Mitchell Rathbun and Aiden Swainston went 2-0 in doubles, as did teammates Noah Brandt and Maximilian Foels.

Daniel Pereira was 2-1 in singles for The Meadows.

Foothill 12, Silverado 6 — At Foothill, Lukas Werle was 2-0 in singles to lead the Falcons by the Skyhawks.

GIRLS

Palo Verde 14, The Meadows 4 — At Palo Verde, Kristen Newell, Annie Walker and Chloe Henderson each went 2-0 in singles as the Panthers topped the Mustangs.

The doubles teams of Isabella Shelton and Sophie Henderson, Alissa Till and Abby Lewis, and Shelby Graber and Natasha Scott each went 2-0 for Palo Verde.

Foothill 12, Silverado 6 — At Foothill, Breanna Derflinger and Katey Roquemore went 2-0 in doubles to help the Falcons top the Skyhawks.

Megan Lopez went 3-0 in singles, and Tiffany Theophil was 1-0 in singles for Silverado.

Bishop Gorman 14, Faith Lutheran 4 — At Gorman, Angelique Friedrich and Amber Del Rosario each went 2-0 in singles as the Gaels downed the Crusaders.

Jade Mayweather and Emma Figueredo were 2-0 in doubles for Gorman.

Desert Pines 15, Durango 3 — At Durango, Ashley Palacios was 2-0 in singles to help the Jaguars beat the Trailblazers.

Stephanie Aviles and Cassandra Bueno went 2-0 in doubles for Desert Pines. Cecilia Garcia-Leon and Shelly Alvarado also teamed to go 2-0 in doubles for the Jaguars.

Valley 11, Eldorado 7 — At Eldorado, the doubles teams of Katie Streit and Danielle Bradley, and Claire Angel and Annelisa Laizure each went 3-0 to lead the Vikings to victory over the Sundevils.

Cheyenne Delicate was 3-0 in singles for Eldorado.
