Gorman’s Little, Arbor View’s Quintana make national team trials roster

Bishop Gorman’s Jack Little and Arbor View’s Nick Quintana made the 40-man roster for the 18U National Team Trials.

Little and Quintana were among 107 athletes that attended the Tournament of Stars in Cary, N.C.

From that group, 40 players advanced to the trials. The first round of trials began Monday in Cary, N.C. and will continue through July 4 when the roster will be trimmed to 28.

Those players will go through a second round of trials in Los Angeles in August before the final 20-man roster is announced by USA Baseball.

Both players were members of the Review-Journal’s all-state first team this spring.

Little, a right-handed pitcher, was 7-1 with a 1.53 ERA in helping the Gaels capture the Division I state title.

Quintana, a shortstop, batted .433 with eight homers and 49 RBIs to help the Aggies advance to the state tournament.
