Desert Oasis regional baseball game postponed

Wednesday’s American Legion Western Regional game between the Desert Oasis Aces and Boulder (Colorado) was postponed after three innings because of rain and lightning in Boulder.

The game was tied 1-1 when it was delayed, and continued lightning forced it to be postponed.

Desert Oasis took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Brett Brocoff doubled home Bryson Stott. But Boulder tied the game with an unearned run in the third inning.

The game will resume at 7 a.m. Thursday with the Aces batting. Tournament director Eric Harman said the plan is to also play all four of Thursday’s scheduled games, although game times may have to be pushed back, or a second field might be needed.

Harman said that decision would come early Thursday morning.
